Students use illustration, design and scale in workshops on creating custom pieces through designing icons, altering clothing, fabricating appliqués and leatherwork. Students use: math, graphic design, spatial relationships, scale, sewing and leatherwork. This course can scale from 4th through 12th grade.
“Signature Style” can be taught as a full unit or in component workshops:
Icon Design- students explore how to create an icon that expresses them well through graphic design principles
Applique Creation- students use design, scale and spatial relationships to make custom appliqués
Leatherwork – students use design, scale and spatial relationships to make custom leatherwork pieces
Alteration- students use design, math, scale and spatial relationships to alter clothing
